This is an exciting time to join Selwood as we drive our business forward with the introduction of a Quality Manager into our Pump Manufacture and Sales business to drive quality and continuous improvement through our facility. The focus of the Quality Manager will be to support the customer, production and engineering teams in managing and delivering product quality focusing on reducing product non-conformance and improving the level of product ‘Right First Time’. The role will lead the creation and implementation of the best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures as part of the Management Team.

Main Responsibilities:

Duties for the Quality Manager will be wide ranging and varied and will concentrate on the following key areas:

  • New Product Implementation
  • The leading of continuous improvement

Qualifications / Competencies:
Essential:

  • Experience of leading and demanding a Health & Safety culture, driving and creating an environment where good practices are a way of everyday life and overall compliance is adhered to. You need to demonstrate the ability to encourage the teams as this is essential to the success of our business.
  • Experience of successfully managing a team, being able to demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to develop, coach, motivate and engage a team. Connecting and collaborating intensively within your team and across the organisation.
  • Proven background in leading a Quality Team in a manufacturing/engineering environment, driving growth, maximising sales and profitability. Setting clear objectives aligned to business goals and interconnecting all employees and departmental functions. Ensure the customer experience maximises quality and service.
  • Understanding of the inspection of parts and finished products to engineering standards, specifications and drawings.
  • Good excel analytical skills to enable development of KPI reporting and to support challenges to supplier quality.
  • A leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen and offer sound feedback. An ability to provide a
  • Quality vision for the business and the wider team, and to adapt and be decisive in a rapid pace environment.
  • Intimate understanding of UKCA and CE requirements and successful implementation.

Preferred:

  • Experience of CI methodology and tools
  • Experience of DMAIC methodology

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £45,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
