Job Description:
The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper completion and accuracy of Association of American Railroads (AAR) document maintenance, implementation of statistical techniques to support the standard and quality assurance of the plant. The position will also encompass calibration coordination, maintenance of customer complaints and corrective actions, and incoming inspection for supplied materials and most importantly, assuring we are supplying the best quality product available to Wabtec Global Services Customers.


Implementation and training on the shop floor.
Ongoing shop floor training of procedures to meet AAR regulatory requirements.
Calibration of tools/gauges.
Timely Cost of Poor Quality and customer-related monthly reporting.
Investigate manufacturing issues and develop corrective measures.
AAR and/or customer audits participation.
Special requirements from customers. (i.e., Flow charts, FRA, Manufacturing Plans, etc.).
Document maintenance of internal and external controlled documents as well as upgrades to current practices that comply with AAR standards.
Maintenance of Supplier Quality Assurance, including Vendor Audits.
Complete other tasks assigned as part of the engine launch team such as part dunnage designs, kit cart designs, assembly tooling management, 5S activities, etc.

Desired Skills:

Knowledge of product structures, bills of material, engineering change notice / change order process
Knowledge of manufacturing shop floor computer systems
Three or more years of experience in Quality Control principals.
Excellent written / oral communication skills, influencing and interpersonal skills
Self-starter: takes the initiative to identify and implement new ideas
Strong analytical / problem solving skills
Capable of planning and organizing work and processes; ability to direct multiple projects and meet deadlines.$
Additional experience/knowledge with locomotive systems a plus.

Bachelor of Science in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Industrial) or 3 years equivalent experience in a technical role.
